Lift safety
The Risk
Lifts are large, mechanical items that can cause serious injury and harm if something goes wrong. To make sure they are always in good condition, we carry out routine maintenance and servicing of lifts.
Lifts include passenger lifts in blocks of flats, through floor lifts and stair lifts.
We also service and check hoists, accessible bathing equipment, and other devices we’ve installed in your home.
The Law
The safe operation and inspection of lifts and lifting equipment is covered under the Health and Safety at Work Act.
What we do
We instruct our contractors to service and maintain lifts based on their type and the manufacturer’s instructions. This might be monthly, quarterly or once a year.
We also instruct a separate contractor to complete a safety inspection of the lift or lifting equipment and ensure our maintenance contractor is keeping it in good condition.
What you need to do
Allow access to your home if you have a lift or lifting equipment that needs servicing.
Report any problems with your equipment or the lift in your building to us as soon as possible by phoning 0121 216 3330.
Be safe, let us in to do the work we have to do.
