This exhibition by Midlands-based artist Suminder Virk is inspired by the modernist and brutalist buildings of Chandigarh, a city in northern India.
Suminder's paintings use fine lines of oil paint, echoing traditional henna techniques, to reflect the textures and shapes of the city’s architecture.
The work also includes photographs of everyday buildings that influenced her.
The exhibition will be shown in the Heritage Lounge at the Hive as part of Birmingham Heritage Week.
The lounge will be open Tuesday to Friday, from 10:00am to 3:30pm. Last entry at 3:00pm.
